A packed Alexandra Nechita Center for the Arts at Lutheran High School of Orange County in southern California was the site January 10, 2007 for an important gathering of stakeholders in the quality of high school education in the United States entitled “Education in the 21st Century.” Attendees included businesses leaders, educators, elected officials and students. With a focus on the convergence of technology and education, speakers outlined pressing issues facing America's competitive standing in the world, the need for significant innovation and new thinking in education, and the unique role online education can and is playing in meeting those challenges in preparing America's youth as leaders and citizens.
