FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

ORANGE COUNTY ENTREPRENEUR APPOINTED BY PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH TO U.S. SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION'S NATIONAL ADVISORY COUNCIL

Sinan Kanatsiz, founder and CEO of San Clemente-based KCOMM, will serve two-year term.

SAN CLEMENTE, CA, Tuesday, June 20, 2006 - The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) recently announced the appointment of Orange County entrepreneur Sinan Kanatsiz to its National Advisory Council (NAC). Kanatsiz, founder and CEO of KCOMM, a San Clemente-based Public Relations, Public Affairs and Internet Marketing firm, received the appointment due to his community involvement, measurable business accomplishments and Internet industry foresight.

Kanatsiz's two-year term will end in March of 2008.

"It is an honor to be a Presidential appointee," said Kanatsiz. "The issues I’m most passionate about include family, education and technology. As a member of the SBA, I look forward to supporting programs that are in line with my personal and professional philosophies."

"Sinan is the perfect individual for this position. His business success, political understanding and entrepreneurial foresight give the SBA a great perspective," says Mario Rodriguez, past vice chairman of the California Republican Party. "I recommended Sinan due to his leadership within Orange County."

Kanatsiz has effectively made his mark as an outstanding entrepreneur since 1998 when he formed his first company, Kanatsiz & Associates, a web development and Internet marketing consultancy. The company quickly evolved into Kanatsiz Communications (KCOMM), having developed and orchestrated strategic campaigns for over 400 prominent companies and organizations worldwide, ranging from innovative start-ups to New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ listed companies such as Sony and Toshiba.

Kanatsiz is a noted authority on marketing, advertising and public relations as they relate to the Internet, and speaks nationally on these subjects. He has held engagements at several universities, including USC, UCLA, Chapman University, Cal State Fullerton, UC Irvine and La Verne College and delivered keynote speeches at the Future Business Leaders of America national conference and the Business Marketing Association's state conference.

He is also the chairman and founder of the Internet Marketing Association (IMA), a leading trade association for Internet marketing professionals and serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Girls and Boys Town of Southern California. Kanatsiz was designated Alumnus of the Year by Chapman University in 2000, received Santa Ana College’s highly coveted Hall of Fame Award in 2005, received the 2005 California Community College Alumnus of the Year Award and is a two-time recipient of the PROTOS award, the highest honor bestowed by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Kanatsiz also served on the board of the Southern California Chapter of the Business Marketing Association and the Orange County chapter of PRSA. He also founded Generation NeXt, a Political Action Committee focused on issues that affect the next generation, and is the youngest member of the New Majority, Orange County.

NAC members generally represent a cross section of industries and entities with an interest in small business issues across the nation, including business leaders, business owners, officials from trade associations and academic institutions devoted to the promotion of small business. The NAC meets up to two times a year. Members of the NAC serve without compensation.

The NAC of the U.S. SBA was established in October 1965. It is a group of appointed volunteers who partner with the SBA to support its mission of maintaining and strengthening the nation's economy by aiding, counseling, assisting, and protecting the interests of small businesses and by helping families and businesses recover from natural disasters. NAC members provide expert advice, ideas and opinions on SBA programs and small business issues. They provide an essential connection between the SBA, SBA program participants and the small business community.

Established in 1953 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., the SBA has delivered about 20 million loans, loan guarantees, contracts, counseling sessions and other forms of assistance to small businesses. The SBA's programs now include financial and federal contract procurement assistance, management assistance, and specialized outreach to women, minorities and armed forces veterans. The SBA also provides loans to victims of natural disasters and specialized advice and assistance in international trade.
